If you would like any further information or a quotation for any of our products, please do not hesitate to contact us - please note, products are dependent on your country of domicile/ operation as we are only permitted/ able to provide coverage in selected locations worldwide and, as always, coverage is dependent on Insurers acceptance of the risk. We are able to place insurances either via email or over the telephone, whichever suits you best (a questionnaire completed by you and either emailed or posted is required by Insurers prior to the acceptance of risk).
Here at Altitude Insurance, we can look to offer coverage for almost all types of General Aviation including light aircraft and hot air balloons.
We have access to some of the leading aviation (Re)Insurers and Brokers in the EU and can offer either a comprehensive package of both Hull and Liability (Re)Insurance or just Liability (Re)Insurance at competitive premiums.
Hull Insurance -
When you own/ operate an aircraft, you are exposed to the possibility of losses including (but not limited to) fire/ theft/ accidental damage. If you would like to protect yourself against losses of this type, we can provide you with Hull insurance.
Liability Insurance -
Our policies will provide Third Party and Passenger (if applicable) Legal Liability. If both types of Liability coverage are required, i.e. the aircraft is permitted to carry Passengers, this Liability will be provided in the form of a Combined Single Limit (C.S.L.). Such limit will be no less than what is legally required under EU Regulation EC785/2004 (a copy of the Regulation can be provided upon request; this allows legal flight within Europe).
On 30th April 2005, EC Regulation EC 785/2004 on insurance requirements for air carriers and aircraft operators came into force (subsequently amended on 6th April 2010). The Regulation, as amended, specifies the minimum levels of insurance legally required by aircraft operators and air carriers in respect of third party cover, passenger cover and cover for risks of war and terrorism – something that was not compulsory in all areas of general aviation up till that point. This insurance must be in place prior to any flight undertaken. As you are an aircraft owner/ operator, you are legally required to hold this insurance in order to undertake flight.
We will calculate the minimum requirement for your Aircraft and provide your quotation on this basis (rounded up to the nearest quarter million). A copy of how we have calculated your minimum limit can be provided upon request. The minimum amount of cover required is dependent on 2 factors; how many passengers the aircraft is permitted to carry and the aircraft Maximum Take-Off Mass.
Our policies have been tailor made with business owners in mind, offering you a comprehensive, flexible and cost-effective cover, the types of risks we can offer coverage for include -
- Tradesman (Public/ Employers/ Products Liability) Insurance for over 300 Trades (up to EUR 6,500,000 Pubic/ Products Liability and Employers Liability of EUR 13,000,000)
- Cover for over 100+ types of Shops (coverage up to EUR 5,000,000 Sum Insured (including accidental damage and replacement locks and keys), Buildings Cover, Pubic Liability, Employers Liability, Seasonal Stock Increases, Perishable stock, loss of licence cover and your computers and iPhones)
Many insurances aren’t a legal requirement for businesses, but are a necessary precaution; for example, if your business is responsible for injuring a Third Party (i.e. a member of the public) or for the damage or destruction of their property or an Employee is injured in the course of their employment, the Insurance could cover any related costs - loss of earnings, future loss of earnings, the cost of repairing damage and any damages awarded to the claimant, plus legal costs. If you don't have cover, you could find yourself paying out tens of thousands of pounds in compensation, which may be crippling to a business.
